15 years of the “A. Cuccovillo” vocational school

The “Antonio Cuccovillo” vocational school has reached its 15th anniversary, an important milestone which it celebrated with an event for students, companies, and institutions.

Taking inspiration from the German dual education model and applying it to the field of mechatronics, the school was one of the first in Italy to offer young graduates a training path that combines classroom study with hands-on experience within a company. This formula has proven highly effective: for students, it successfully bridges the gap to the world of work, and for companies, it is a reliable means of finding qualified technicians.

As Masmec, we have shared the mission of this vocational school right from the start, acting as both founding members and education partners. Yet, perhaps even we wouldn’t have imagined such a significant impact on our own workforce: today, nearly 50 people working here are former “A. Cuccovillo” school students. Giving lessons and mentoring them through internships has allowed us to quickly build a bridge between their skills and our environment, where they now hold roles ranging from design to production, including digitalisation.

The story doesn’t end here: our hope—and our commitment—for the future is that the “A. Cuccovillo” school continues to be a source of opportunities for both young people and businesses.
