Coding girls
It is widely known that women are still underrepresented in STEM university courses and occupation.
To get over this gender gap and encourage girls to get into coding, Fondazione Mondo Digitale and the US Embassy in Italy, in partnership with Microsoft Italy, are promoting “Coding girls”, a national tour including coding lessons in schools and programming hackathons.
This year female students from Bari took part in the programme for the first time. They will compete in a contest on 16th November 2019 at the University of Bari.
Here at Masmec we believe that companies should promote gender equality and we are proud that one of our female software developers participated in the project as trainer and role model, being an example with her competence and career for the next generation of coders.
